WORLD of Siberia Festival’s 2021 application submission for the Crafts Award Competition and the World Music Award Competition has been closed

By now, the Organizing Committee has accepted more than 300 applications: 220 applications from musicians and 108 applications from craftsmen! The Organizing Committee received applications to the competitions from 47 regions of Russia – from the Crimea to the Sakhalin region. Along-with, Romanian and Kyrgyz performers showed great interest in taking part in the competitions.

“We are glad that this year application campaign has been diversified by world music performers’ involvement who represent not only capital cities but also small villages. A lot of bands and performers are going to take part in the qualifying round for the first time,” says Tatyana Pirogova, the coordinator of the “MIRA” World Music Award Competition. “We are pleased the participants represent all regions of the Siberian Federal District. A lot of talented participants from the Transbaikal region and the Republic of Buryatia show their interest in the competition. Contestants from the Stavropol region, the Republic of Adygeya and the Kyrgyz Republic are going to take part in the competition for the first time.”

The nominees selection for the competitions will be carried out till the end of April and the festival’s competent jury is going to choose finalists as a result. The World Music Award Competition’s jury chairman is Sergey Starostin, the world-сlass performer. The Crafts Award Competition’s jury chairman is Alexander Migas, the pottery artist and professor of the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk State Academy of Arts. Judging is going to be hard but interesting for the jury, but at the same time the audience will be immersed in vivid and charming folk traditions.
