WORLD of Siberia Festival’s 2022 application submission for the Crafts Award Competition and the World Music Award Competition has been closed.
By now, the Organizing Committee has accepted more than 390 applications: 222 from
musicians and 168 from craftsmen. Applications have been sent from 50 regions of
Russia, also from Peru and India.

"I am glad that the interest in the festival among the folklore community of our country
and other countries is not fading. This year, we can see an increased number of
participants again, especially the Crafts Award applicants. There are one and a half times
more of them compared to last year. We are confident that the works’ quality, the musical
material, and the performers’ proficiency level will be on top," says Dmitry Sirotinin,
Deputy Executive Director of the festival.

The nominees selection for the competitions will be carried out till the end of April and the
festival’s competent jury is going to choose finalists as a result. The World Music Award
Competition’s jury chairman is Sergey Starostin, the world-сlass performer, ethnographer.
The Crafts Award Competition’s jury chairman is Alexander Migas, the pottery artist and
professor of the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Siberian State Academy of Arts. Not more than 60
main round participants will be selected for the “MIRA” Crafts and Music Awards.
