WORLD of Siberia Festival’s application submission period has been extended
are welcomed to submit their entries for one of the biggest festivals of world music and crafts
in Russia. The application submission deadline has been extended till April 15, inclusive.
By now, the Organizing Committee have accepted 268 applications from 42 regions of Russia
and 1 application from Rumania. We are still getting requests to participate in competitions from
professional and amateur performers of world music. This year Siberian craftsmen show great
interest in competition. For the first time more than 30 applications from craftsmen of the
Krasnoyarsk region have been registered. They represent 12 municipal districts, it is twice more
than usual.
As for the World Music Award Competition the Organizing Committee have got the
applications from different regions of the Russian Federation: the Siberian Federal District, the Far
East of Russia, the North Caucasus, the Ural region and the European part of Russia including
Moscow and Saint-Petersburg.
Inna Zhelannaya, a famous folk-rock performer and the festival’s jury member, says about
the contestants: “strong emotions come up while listening to performances of people of natural
gifts. They make me feel goosebumps, have a lump in my throat and I’m in a flood of tears at that
moment. It seems that traditional music is so ordinary and simple but it touches to the bottom of
my heart…”
The competitions nominees have a great chance to show their talents to a great number of
people, as annually 35 thousand spectators come to Shushenskoye to enjoy the live world music
and the online audience is even more than that.
Applications are accepted by post and email. There is no competitions entry fee. Prize fund
includes prize money to all main round participants of the competitions. You may see the conditions

The 17th International Festival of World Music and Crafts “WORLD of Siberia” will be held
on July 9 – 11
