The list of headliners of WORLD of Siberia Festival was announced
Headliners of the XVIII International Festival of World Music and Crafts “WORLD of Siberia” will be 67 musicians from the 11 countries.
“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the festival organizers, who managed to maintain the international status of the festival. Artists take part in the WORLD of Siberia Festival not only from Russia, but also from Portugal, Algeria, Cabo Verde, Israel and other countries.” says Arkady Zinov, Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk region.
Performances of the headliners are divided into four days for the first time.
Seven Eight Band, the winners of The Best World Music Project at the Russian World Music Awards, will be one of the first on the Main Stage. Hassan Belkacem Benalioua, the leader of Algerian orchestras, and Misirli Ahmet, percussionist from Turkey, will be playing jazz in the open air together with the core members of the band. Percussionist personally developed a unique technique of playing two drums and wins the hearts of all listeners around the world through beating the rhythm with incredible speed. The repertoire of the Seven Eight Band includes the Mediterranean and Oriental melodies, energy of catchy exotic rhythms, cross-genre solos combined with a powerful groove. The band merges the sound of different folk instruments such as kaval, bendir, darbuka, duduk, zourna, oud.
Otava Yo, “buffoons” from the northern capital of Russia, will also entertain the crowd. They combine lots of creative solutions and good humor with careful attitude to folklore. As the artists admitted, their performance is some kind of a village folk disco. This will be fun and no one gets left behind.
Israel singer Shiran sends us to the exotic journey through Yemen folk music. Electro hafla, a live and incomparable show is created by the singer Shiran Avraham and producer Ron Bakal, her husband. They combine traditional folk songs with modern aesthetics while offering something fresh and interesting, sensitive and sincere, with the special respect for the language. The singer will perform in our country for the first time, as well as another headliner from abroad.
Elida Almeida from Cape Verde will also perform for the first time. Cape Verde Islands woman wins the hearts of the crowd through a dazzling smile and her powerful voice. The rising star of the world music reflects hopes and dreams of young Cape Verdeans who are eager to escape their isolation and embrace the world. Her songs produce a gorgeous impression of kindness and something close to everyone.
The Belarusian State Ensemble "Pesnyary", Tina Kuznetsova's project Zventa Sventana, Sergey Starostin and Tim Dorofeev's Art Quartet, Namgar, Uzoritsa and Khoomei Beat have already named among the headliners of the WORLD of Siberia Festival.
Admission to all concerts of the festival is free.

It is one of outstanding creative works of the Culture National Project. In the Year of the Cultural Heritage, the WORLD of Siberia Festival is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and under the patronage of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO.
