"WORLD of Siberia" Festival is looking for talents!
Applications for participation in the competition program of the 22nd International Festival of Ethnic Music and Crafts "WORLD of Siberia" are open until March 31st.
The WORLD of Siberia Festival is one of the largest folk festivals in Russia and Siberia's top open-air music event. This four-day folk marathon takes place in the Shushenskoye village on the south of the Krasnoyarsk region. Every year, in the middle of summer around 100,000 guests from all over the world flock here. Approximately 300,000 people watch the events of the World of Siberia Festival online.
Each year hundreds of amateur and professional performers of ethnic music, dance, artists and craftsmen participate in the Festival's competition program. Creative teams, crafters, family ensembles, soloists and groups who carefully preserve the cultural traditions of their ancestors compete in various age categories for the attention of a discerning audience and a distinguished Jury in order to win the WORLD Cup along with a cash prize.
Participation in the competition is free. All applicants will be awarded diplomas from the prestigious international festival. Finalists will receive the opportunity to perform on the WORLD Cup's main stage and a 30,000 ruble incentive, while laureates will receive 60,000 rubles. The Grand Prix is 300,000 rubles.
The contestants will be judged by prominent cultural and artistic figures. The Chairman of the ethnic music competition Jury is renowned folklorist and music producer Sergei Starostin. The board of experts for the crafts award is chaired by Alexander Migas, Honored Artist of the Krasnoyarsk region and one of the founders of the Krasnoyarsk School of Artistic Ceramics. Applications for participation in the crafts or ethnic music competitions can be submitted online. As a reminder, the 22nd International Festival of Ethnic Music and Crafts "WORLD of Siberia" will be held from July 9 to 12 in the Shushenskoye village, the Krasnoyarsk region.

This large-scale summer festival has been held since 2003 and, over its long history, has become a cultural treasure of the region, widely known in Russia and far beyond. The "WORLD of Siberia" has been recognized by UNESCO three times and received the auspices of the international organization. Last year, it attracted over 80,000 guests. The event was founded by the Ministry of Culture of Krasnoyarsk region, and is organized by the Center for International and Regional Cultural Relations.
